In the autumn a chap called Jim aka Peak High sent me an incredible proto-house rendition of Jean Carne's "Was That All It Was". I was excited because it's one of my favourite disco records ever. I came to it via Kym Mazelle's house version from 1989. The David Morales Def Mix Dub got utterly rinsed by the younger Johnston. Also, the Mark E - E-Version Edit (The Shoe) got a lot of ALFOS airtime a few years back.
I played Jim's version on an EBS and then at the October Phonox and the reaction was incredible.
I offered to do a remix to try to help raise the profile of this great record, but ended up doing two versions, a Cowley inspired electronic disco version that took the roof off Phonox last night and Sheffield 1990 / Crooked Man-esque Bleep Dub.
They are available, along with the original from the Peak High Bandcamp page now.

This is simply awesome, have it on repeat since receiving the promo…
Start to finish this is simply sublime, a cosmic Balearic electronic journey with a wonderful
Samples and even iconic spoken word from a Ibiza legend….

Given the quality of Peza's music it didn't take much convincing to subscribe. Every track on this is a belter - 'Our Lips Are Sealed' is nothing short of genius and shows a genuine love for the original (which is one of my favourite FB3 tracks) Esteban (Black Light Disco)
